Introdução
O empresário Sandro dos Santos Ribeiro entrou com uma ação na Justiça contra o Corinthians, nesta quinta-feira, exigindo o pagamento de R$ 8,4 milhões. Ele alega ser o verdadeiro intermediário no acordo de patrocínio firmado entre o clube e a casa de apostas VaideBet, que foi rompido após seis meses por suspeitas na comissão paga.
O contrato, assinado no início de 2026, previa o pagamento de R$ 25 milhões de comissão para a empresa Rede Social Design, pertencente a Alex Cassundé. O profissional está ligado à campanha eleitoral de Augusto Melo, presidente afastado do clube. No entanto, a Polícia Civil apurou que Cassundé não teve envolvimento na negociação.
Segundo as investigações, os verdadeiros articuladores do patrocínio foram Sandro Ribeiro, Washington de Araújo Silva e Antônio Pereira dos Santos, conhecido como Toninho Duettos. O valor cobrado por Sandro na Justiça representa um terço da comissão de 7% sobre os R$ 360 milhões previstos no contrato total com a VaideBet.
Até o momento, o Corinthians não se manifestou oficialmente sobre o processo. Em nota via assessoria, Augusto Melo negou qualquer relação com Sandro: "Nunca tratei nada com ele e não o reconheço como intermediário, portanto não tenho nada a declarar".
Já o atual vice-presidente do clube, Armando Mendonça, atribuiu mais esse prejuízo à gestão do ex-mandatário: "Essa ação é mais um dano financeiro e à imagem do Corinthians provocado por Augusto Melo. Ele e seus aliados devem ser responsabilizados judicialmente. Os corintianos não podem permitir o retorno de alguém assim à presidência".
